IsoMAP Overview

IsoMAP will experience job submission problem for a few hours starting 10am, Oct 24 due to cluster(carter-ssg) migration.

IsoMAP is experiencing job submission problem due to system maintenance (File system). Please check back tomorrow. Updates will be posted here. 07/20/2015

IsoMAP is experiencing job submission problem due to certificate issue at gateway. Updates will be posted here. 07/01/2015

Certificate problems have been resolved. You may submit jobs now. 03/25/2015

System maintenance has been completed. You may submit jobs now. 07/23/2015

There was a short power failure across West Lafayette Campus 10 am Jun 11, 2014. If your jobs were running at that time, they might have been terminated unexpectedly. Please monitor your jobs and resubmit any jobs that have been affected.

IsoMAP is experiencing job status update problem. Submitted jobs' status do not change from Pending even if they have been finished due to Globus problem. Updates will be posted here. 08/15/2014

Job status update problem has been fixed. Sorry for the inconvenience. 08/15/2014

The Carter cluster will be unavailable beginning at Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 7:00am to 7:00pm, for scheduled maintenance. The cluster will return to full production by Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 7:00pm.

The Carter cluster will be unavailable beginning at Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 7:00am to 7:00pm, for scheduled maintenance. The cluster will return to full production by Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 7:00pm. During this time, critical preventative maintenance needs to be performed on the cooling unit for Carter. Jobs that run past this time will be unable to complete. Any PBS jobs which request a walltime which would take them past Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 7:00am to 7:00pm will not start and will remain in the queue until after the maintenance is completed.

The scratch filesystem serving Carter is currently unavailable. Both currently running jobs and attempts to access files in scratch will block until the filesystem is back online. Job scheduling on Carter has been paused while storage engineers address the issue.

Unscheduled Scratch Outage on Carter Update: March 31, 2016 9:56am The scratch storage issue on Carter and Scholar has been isolated to a bad drive in one of the disk pools. This is being replaced, and if Carter and Scholar are not back to normal operations before then, we will send an update by 1:00pm.

The Carter cluster has returned to normal operation. You may now submit jobs. 04/03//2016

Update: February 24, 2016 11:03am The job submission may not work. The Depot filesystem appears to be ok, but some of the servers that make it available are currently locking each other in such a way as to prevent it from being available to anyone. We have been working closely with IBM through the night to find a way to clear the deadlock and allow all the servers to start responding to filesystem requests again. A few things have been tried to no avail, and other options are now being attempted. We will issue an update as soon as we find something more, or at least by 3:00pm

  • Data identification and processing are handled by ISOMAP and are transparent to the user.
  • Hierarchically structured toolkits provide functionality for model assessment, prediction (map-making), and data analysis for a variety of model and substrate types.
  • Users can conduct end-to-end data exploration and modeling within an online workspace, with automatic data and metadata curation and cross-toolkit integration.
  • Products are accessible for download and can be published to a shared workspace, enabling access by other users.

IsoMAP provides sophisticated tools for research and analysis but is designed with accessibility in mind. Our user community includes not only researchers with experience in isotope chemistry but also educators and individuals from outside of academia who could benefit from the educational and applied scientific uses of isoscapes.
